We lost our beautiful Maggie 4 months ago today and we marked the occasion by deciding it was time for a break. We've had problems for years (and years, and years...) and the loss of Mags just magnified everything.
He's miserable and expects me to make him happy; I'm not made up like that. He thinks that things should be getting better, not worse. I'm sick of feeling resentful and barely co-existing with my "partner".
He's grieved the only way he knew how, by going out with friends, rarely coming home before Piper (our 5yo) goes to bed. The atmosphere in our house is full of tension, resentment, grief, and bitterness. I can't keep doing this, and Pea shouldn't have to be subjected to two parents who can hardly stand being in the same room.
He's refused counseling, saying it's just a "temporary fix" and I'm certainly not going to force him, nor do I want to.
He'll be moving out this weekend and will be living with his parents. I just want him to GO so I can start over with my "new normal".
Anyway, I guess I'm now a single mom, not that I wasn't already. Just need to reach out to others who are in the same boat.

I am a single mom also and have been for years now. I think I like it better at times and I firmly believe that things happen for a reason. If you need to talk Im here.
